About
I’m a Toronto photographer who makes pictures the slow way. Most of my work is fundamentally
portraiture, printed by hand in photogravure, cyanotype, gum and platinum, processes that reward patience and punish shortcuts.
Before the darkroom took over, I spent two decades in television, post-production and advertising, learning how images get made quickly. Now I’m interested in how they last. The works deal with time, and with the quiet negotiation between the person in the frame and the person looking at it. The name is a joke. The prints have taken twenty-five years.
